Online Library resources (account sign-in required):

  • Career Online High School for Adults - The Library and YMCA Educational Services (YES!) have partnered to make it easier for adults to earn their high school diplomas – online, for free, and in as little as five months.

  • Driver Education Program - Free practice tests for LA DMV exams including motorcycle and CDL test prep.

  • HomeworkLouisiana - This resource is not just for students. Connect with a career coach and receive real-time career advice in an online classroom, or leave a résumé or cover letter for feedback from a coach. Also access templates, writing guidelines, and other job search resources. Note: The online classroom is available Sundays - Thursdays from 10am - midnight.

  • - A massive online training library where patrons can learn through self-paced and on-demand content. Learn business, software, technology, and creative skills with online video tutorials taught by recognized industry professionals. Finish a course and receive a certificate of completion that you can download or add to your LinkedIn profile.

  • LearningExpress - This learning platform offers self-paced workshops and resources. Learn more about a career, prepare for an occupational exam, and learn job search and workplace skills. There are also modules that help to strengthen math and reading skills in preparation for a new job.

  • Louisiana Jobs and Career Center - This website pulls together resources for those seeking new careers, changing jobs, needing a little extra help preparing for the job market, online one-on-one tutoring, access to free workforce development classes, and small business help.

  • Pronunciator - Choose from 80 languages to learn, practice English as a Second Language (ESL), or study for the citizenship test.

  • CareerOneStop - CareerOneStop is the flagship career, training, and job search website for the U.S. Department of Labor. The website serves job seekers, businesses, students, and career advisors with a variety of free online tools, information and resources.

  • Goodwill Community Foundation - program has helped millions of people learn the essential skills they need to live and work in the 21st century. From Microsoft Office and email, to reading, math, and more.

  • Occupation Outlook Handbook - This resource from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics provides career information on education and training, duties, pay, and outlook for hundreds of occupations.
